Who's who?

I've showed you this picture before, but now I have better scans of it, so it's easier to tell who's who. Still, I have a problem with identifying some people. Help me?

Weekly feature: Excerpt from original script

This week's featured episode is Wrecked, where Buffy & Spike deals with "the morning after" and Willow & Amy dwells even deeper into magic.

In a line cut due to length, Amy & Willow discuss cage life;

AMY: I want to have fun, Willow. I've been in a cage.

WILLOW: There was a little ball. And you seemed to enjoy playing with those cardboard toilet paper rolls.

AMY: As cages go, it was fine. But I was still confined. I've got lost time to make up and if people don't like it, screw them.

My guess is that it was cut from this conversation.

Customs.

Give a big round of applause for VampSpike. He hasn't made any customs since last September, but as we see with these two new customs, he hasn't forgotten how to customize.

MY THOUGHTS A few things I want for a Buffy movie

Maybe you've heard the news of a possible non-Joss Buffy-movie? If not, you could read here(but it's not necessary to be able to read this post).

Anyway, here's my ideas for a Buffy movie (I have a specific idea that I won't share, that includes Spike, Angel, baby oil & me, but I think you can figure it out ; )

There should be a prologue of some sort, even if it's not impossible to do without.
Maybe it starts out with the ordinary introduction by Giles, that gets interrupted by Buffy;

GILES: Into Each Generation a slayer is born. One girl in all the world. She alone will stand against the vampires the demons and the forces of darkness. She is the Slay-

BUFFY: Blah blah. That's the old version. Some things have changed. First of, I'm don't stand alone. Never have been really...

and then Buffy's voice(it's a voice over) continues talking while some scenes of slayers fighting and the Scooby gang is shown, or important relevant scenes from the TV-show, (that might be mentioned in the prologue).

The prologue should show/tell:

* What slayers are and something about the kinds of creatures that inhabit the earth(vampires, witches, demons etcetc)

* Who Buffy is

* That there once was only one slayers but now there's many

*Whatever information about other characters(Willow, Xander etcetc) that is needed for the movie to make sense, but there's no need to overwhelm new viewers, for example, that Dawn is Buffy's sister and Willow a witch can be told in dialogue quite easily in the movie. (DAWN: "I hate having a bigger sister", XANDER: "Willow, get your small tight Wicca butt over here".)

*Something creepy and foretelling, like "The leader of the slayer army thought she had seen it all. She had no idea what was to come."

It should be after or before Season 8, it should not de-canonize Season 8. A movie taking place between season 7 and 8 could work, but it would be less exciting, since we know that everyone will make it through. So a post-season 8 movie would be my choice. Also, there's no need to make it confusing for Buffy fans who have never read the comics. Season 8 characters like Satsu and Simone don't have to show up/be mentioned in the movie. The only reason a post-Season 8 movie wouldn't work would be if Willow died or something, because that kind of things can't just be quickly mentioned in the dialogue or prologue, it wouldn't be fair to non-comic-reading fans.

Buffy is not allowed to have a romance. It would take up too much time. Angel & Spike should be mentioned, but let's face it, they would steal focus away from the other characters if they appeared on screen.

The characters that have to be included would be Buffy(duh!), Willow, Xander, Giles and Dawn.

There has to be a group-bonding scene. No need for hugs and kisses, but I want there to be heartfelt eye-contact at the very lest, specially between Giles and Buffy. The chemistry we saw between Xander & Dawn in Season 8 need to be acknowledged.

Willow would have to fly. No matter how ridiculous some people thought it looked in the comic, and no matter if Alyson Hannigan moves like a whale when in those invisible ropes, Willow will fly. But it should be saved for a dramatic scene near the end of the movie, for effect. For example in a big fight scene, not because she's trying to reach an apple.

Actually, Willow should have her powers removed until the end of the movie. I miss the simple times. In Season 8 magic is used to easily to solve problems. True, comics are very short so the writers don't have a lot of time and can't always let the characters do things "manually", but still.

If it's fitting, it should end with Buffy having a inner monologue. Maybe she's standing on a hill, overlooking a sunset over a battlefield or meadow or something. Maybe the rest of the scoobies walk up to her, like in the end scene of Chosen.

That's some of the things I want in case there'll be a Buffy movie.

About the author

I've decided to make this blog more personal. I will still post about Buffy & Angel as usual, but now I'll slip in posts about me from time to time.

I've been fighting it since the start, but I love talking about myself (specifically what I buy, I'm a ebayholic) so I gonna. I realize that it might make you guys come back less, because let's face it, Buffy is more interesting than me.

But whatever. Look what I bought from ebay yesterday

and today (for 15.99 £, which is incredibly cheap)

Go to this seller if you want to see more cheap Buffy costumes for sale. I'm telling you, to get MsBigs customs for those prices is rare.

Weekly feature: Excerpt from original script

This excerpt is from Waiting in the wings(season 3), one of my favorite Angel episodes. It's the one where the gang goes to the Ballet.

After Fred reveals a little too much of her personal history with The Nutcracker, she and Cordy have the following exchange:

FRED: I often could shut up more.

CORDELIA: It's overrated.

FRED: The Nutcracker?

CORDELIA: Shutting up.

Collection of sketches.

I thought I'd share my online collection of Georges Jeanty sketches. You might recognize some (you might even own the original) because I grab them from different places online.

Jeanty's Oz.

I think I'll be happy with Georges Jeanty's pencilling on the next Buffy arc, Retreat.

Here's two examples of what we'll get to see.

Weekly feature: Excerpt from original script

This week's featured episode is Deep Down (Angel, season 4).

The vampire Marissa makes a desperate attempt to act innocent in a line cut due to length:

"I didn't see nothing, I swear. You know how dark it is down by the bluffs? And hey, my eyes were never that good. Sure, the creature of the night things helps, but..."

The line was probably cut from this dialouge

Five things I want explained about Season 8.

Wheter it be in the comics or explained in another way, there are some things I want to know about Season 8. You know, stuff that's ambiguous or confusing.
* * *
*I want to know why it took 25 issues for Buffy and the guys to track down Kenny to help Dawn. Did he change college and was hard to track down? Xander knew in issue 25 and Andrew was sent to get Kenny. How long had Xander known? Did Buffy think they had it under control so she didn't bother to fix Dawn? Do thricewises do this to people all the time and they turn out fine in the end? I mean, Kenny did mention that Dawn could have turned into horned fire snails, so if Buffy did know that it happened a lot, shouldn't she be aware that it might go very very far?
I don't know how much time it took from issue 1-25, for all I know it was just a few weeks, but still. Why didn't Buffy fix it as ASAP?
I think I can fanwank this one and pretend that Kenny had fled and Xander didn't fidn him until a few hours before issue 25 begun, but I want to know.
* * *
*Has Willow cheated on Kennedy with Saga Vasuki(the snakelady)? Sure looks like it in issue 10, but who knows. This is something we'll probably find out later in Season 8. God I hope so.
* * *
*In The Long Way Home, in Buffy's dream, she and Xander seems to have a thing. She says "I can be gentle this time". Does this mean she has dreamt of this often or that she and Xander has done some non-dream hip-grinding?
* * *
*Why did Willow turn "evil"? Why does she try to kill Buffy in the future?
* * *
*Who's the betrayer mentioned in issue 10? Was that just a lie to confuse Willow & Buffy or will Buffy really get betrayed? Maybe it was just that Dawn "borrowed" Buffy's Veronica Mars DVDs(issue 25) and scratched them? Okay I doubt that, still. My best bet is CLICK
* * * * * * * * * *
I wonder if Joss could write a book about Season 8. Just to fill in some of the blanks. If you've ever read the Q&A's with Georges Jeanty and Scott Allie on slayalive.com you'll know that a lot of things in Season 8 needs confirmation. Sometimes you get the answers in the letter section of each issue, but not always(for example, Joss did explain Warren's return).
Or maybe I'll one day sit down and go through all the Q&As I can find and fix a database with information?
Yeah right, I'm too lazy. Anyone else?

Willowswarlock's customs.

It seems like I only post MsBig customs on here, and I want to change that. I usually find the customs on BTVSfigs forum, and I did these too. I did have to dig them up from months back tough, since thet custom makers don't update that often. (PS. If you which to comment on these customs, don't comment it in their threads, PM the maker, because it's not allowed to bump old threads).

A Angel comic list

Is anyone else confused by the Angel comics? You know, having a hard time keeping track of them? With Buffy, right now, it's just Season 8 and a Tales of the vampires special coming up, but with IDW's Angel comics, wow.

So I thought I'd make a list of the canon-y comics that has come out/will come out(I won't mention the older Angel comics that came before Angel After the fall, even tough some argue that Asylum & Shadow Puppets are canon.)

Angel: After the fall (issue 1-17 of the ongoing Angel series)
Spike: After the fall
Aftermath (issue 18-22 of the on-going Angel series)
Become what you are, Gunn/Illyria (issue 23 of the on-going Angel series)
The newly announced mini series Angel: Only human
Drusilla mini series (issue 24-25 of the on-going Angel series)
Smile Time
Not fade away
The spike on-going series
Blood and trenches
A hole in the world
The Illyria/Fallen Angel crossover

The ones in cursive are the comics we have very little info on. No covers, no real spoilers, no dates, we just know that they're coming.

Did I forget some? It wouldn't suprise me. I have so many lovelies left to read.

EDIT : I forgot the Groosalug(or however it's spelled) one-shot that Brian Lynch wants to do.

Color me impressed.

Remember the Dru fan-colored cover I showed you before? The same guy that colored that, Ryan, has colored a preview page of Not Fade Away(he also added the talk bubble/text).

(Btw, the blog is messing with me, ge here to see the original -and bigger- colored version)

Weekly feature: Excerpt from original script

From the episode Supersymmetry(Angel, season 4), in which Fred finds out that it was her old professor that sent her to Pylea.

The following exchange was cut from Fred and Gunn's talk over the open portal before Gunn kills the professor:

FRED: I can't live in this world knowin' he's in it and not go crazy...

GUNN: Baby, I know about mistakes that eat you up from the inside out. Please...

I got bored again.

This time I tried with a DarkHorse-ish layout.

My Spike comic covers.

As usual when I get bored, I get creative.

I tried to make cover 1 & 2 look painted. Did I succeed?

The last cover sketch is from a original Nick Runge page that I just bought and will post more pictures of in a few days.

Angel throw (away) blanket.

Remember that Buffy throw blanket I meh-ed about before? (Like way, way before?)

Apparently there's a Angel blanket for sale now, and although I like it more than the Buffy one, I'm still not happy about the picture choices and layout.

If you like it, go here to order.

*rotfl*

Our dear Angel-comic-artist Stephen Mooney has made a Wolverine-sketch over at the Eclectic Micks blog that is not exacly work safe. Well, kinda.

Weekly feature: Excerpt from original script

This week I got a excerpt from Carpe Noctem(Angel, Season 3), the body-switch episode where this old guy, Marcus, is trying to "recapture" his youth.In a subplot that was cut due to time constraints, Angel has an awkward reunion with Marcus's estranged daughter, Madeline. After a couple of attempts to reconnect with the woman, Angel realizes that she's better of without her father and tells her such.

ANGEL(AS MARCUS): I'm not your father-not in any real sense- and you have every right to cut me out of your life. You need to. But I know from experience nobody's ever gonna believe that. They'll tell you no matter what, I'm your father and that we have a bond. And on some level, you'll believe them.
MADELINE: The thought of you psychoanalyze-

ANGEL(AS MARCUS): On some level, you'll think that there's something wrong. With you. Something wrong in you that I didn't love you more, treat you better. Something wrong that you're able to cut me out of your life. That ain't the case. You said I don't have a heart, but I know you do. I know how much you feel, how much you love. You need a family and you'll make one, I know. I'm not part of that. I don't wanna be.

(She starts to tear up. And laugh a little at the same time.)

ANGEL(AS MARCUS): What?

MADELINE: It's just, I've been trying so hard all these years to forget you and now you're saying...

ANGEL(AS MARCUS): You should.

Man, this takes me back. I remember the first time I saw Angel/Liam being thrown out by his father. And I remember how hard it was for Connor to be Angel's son.

I really wish they had kept this subplot.

The forgotten cake...

I forgot to show you this cake in my Buffy themed cake post
